Take advice from the right person
- For wills, guardianship, disputes and legal rights: a lawyer (弁護士) or a notary (公証人) at a notary office (公証役場).
- For property registration after an inheritance: a judicial scrivener (司法書士).
- For official documents and applications: an administrative scrivener (行政書士).
- For inheritance tax and tax returns: a tax accountant (税理士).
- For medical questions: your own doctor. In an emergency, call 119.
- For care and support for older residents: the community support centre (地域包括支援センター) or the welfare office of your city or ward.
