Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 26, 2026
This policy explains what personal information Blue Rain Harbor handles when you visit this website or write to us, why we handle it and what you can ask of us. It is written with Japan’s Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI) in mind. If something here is unclear, write to us and we will explain it.
1. Who is responsible
The operator of this website and the party responsible for the personal information described below is Blue Rain Harbor, at the address below. The name of the person in charge of handling personal information is given on request, in writing, without delay.
Blue Rain Harbor
〒860-0001 熊本県熊本市中央区千葉城町2丁目18-17
2-18-17 Chibajomachi, Chuo-ku, Kumamoto City, Kumamoto 860-0001, Japan
Phone: +81 96-676-4764
Email: inquiry@bluerainharbor.com
2. What we collect
We collect only what you choose to send us.
- The contact form: your name, email address, optional phone number, the topic you pick from a list, and the text of your message.
- Email and phone correspondence: whatever you tell us when you write or call, and the dates on which you did so.
- Technical data in the ordinary course of a page request: when your browser loads this page, your IP address and browser details reach the server that delivers it and the server that supplies our web fonts. The hosting service may keep ordinary server logs. We have no analytics, advertising or tracking tool on this website and do not use these data to identify you.
We do not ask for, and ask you not to send us, passwords, bank or card numbers, My Number or health information. Health information is treated as sensitive (要配慮個人情報) under the APPI. If you tell us about a health matter in conversation, we will use it only to help with the question you asked.
3. Why we use it
- to reply to your enquiry and arrange a conversation;
- to prepare a written quotation and, if you go ahead, to provide and administer the service;
- to keep a record of what was agreed, in case of questions later;
- to meet legal obligations, such as keeping accounting records, and to respond to lawful requests.
We do not use your details for advertising or sell them, and we do not send newsletters to people who have not asked for one.
4. How the contact form works, and the service it passes through
The forms on this website do not send your message directly to us. When you press the button, your browser sends the form to formsubmit.co, a third-party form-relay service, which forwards the content by email to our mailbox. Your message therefore passes through that service. It may be operated outside Japan, and it has its own terms and privacy policy, which we do not control.
We cannot tell you how long the relay keeps its copy, and the thank-you page you are returned to cannot confirm that your message was delivered. If you do not hear from us, please write to us directly at the email address above. Email is not a private channel, which is another reason not to include sensitive details.
5. Other services involved
- Google Fonts: this site loads its typefaces from Google’s servers, so your browser makes a request to Google when you open a page. Google may process your IP address as part of that request.
- Google Maps: we link to a map of our address. Nothing from Google Maps is loaded unless you click the link, which opens in a new tab and is then governed by Google’s terms.
- Hosting and email providers: the companies that deliver this site and handle our email necessarily process the data that passes through them.
6. Disclosure to third parties
We do not provide your personal information to third parties except where you have consented, where the law requires or permits it, or where we entrust part of the handling to a provider that is needed to run this site or our mailbox, as described above. We will not pass your details to a notary, lawyer, scrivener, tax accountant or any other professional unless you ask us to and agree to it first.
7. Cookies and local storage
This website does not set cookies. On the 終活手帳 page, the checklist stores which boxes you have ticked in your browser’s local storage, so that the page can remember them. That information stays on your device and is not sent to us. Details are in our Cookie Policy.
8. How long we keep it
We keep enquiry emails for as long as we need them to reply and to administer any resulting service, and for as long as the law requires us to keep records. We have not set a fixed period for enquiries that lead nowhere; we delete them when they are no longer needed. We cannot speak for the retention practices of the third-party services described above.
9. Security
We keep enquiries in our own email account and aim to limit who can read them to the people who need to reply. No method of sending data over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of anything you send us by form or email.
10. Your rights
Under the APPI you may ask us to tell you whether we hold personal information about you, to disclose it, to correct it if it is wrong, and to stop using it or delete it in the cases the law provides for. Write to the address or email above, say which request you are making and give enough information for us to find your messages. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, and we will respond without delay.
11. Complaints
If you are not satisfied with our response, please tell us first. You may also consult the Personal Information Protection Commission (個人情報保護委員会) of Japan.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, for example by connecting a different form service or adding an analytics tool, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
